Mayday is a functional lamp designed by Konstantin Grcic for the Italian brand Flos. Konstantin Grcic is one of the greatest contemporary German designers, known for its innovative Pode to form and functions. He was born in 1965 in Munich, and gained education at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1991 he founded his studio KGID - Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design. It creates furniture, lighting and utility products for brands such as Flos, Magis, Vitra, Muja and Classicon. His designs, such as the Chair_ONE chair or Mayday lamp, are known for industrial aesthetics and intellectual depth.
