The Gatto table lamp is a unique project by Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, designed in 1960 for the Flos brand. Its unique, organic shape and the use of modern materials make it a recognizable element in the world of design. The structure of the lamp has a steel frame, which ensures its stability and durability, and is additionally covered with a special "cocoon" fiber, creating a translucent coating. This innovative solution gives the lamp a delicate, soft aesthetic and provides diffused, pleasant light.
The lamp is suitable for a bulb with a maximum power of 60 W (the bulb is not included in the set). Equipped with a dimmer that allows you to adjust the light intensity to the individual needs of the user.
Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were Italian designers and architects who played a key role in the development of Italian post -war design. Graduates of the Milan University of Technology have created together since the 1950s, focusing on the design of everyday objects with a high dose of innovation, functionality and humor. Their works, such as the Arco lamp (1962) or the Mzzadro stool (1957), have become icons of industrial design. Designers experimented with materials and new technologies, creating objects that combined practicality with a sophisticated aesthetics. They have been awarded many times, including prestigious Compasso d’Oro award. Their Pode Jat to design full of passion, observation of everyday life and a sense of humor remains the inspiration for the next generations of the creators.
