In its refined simplicity, the Model 537 stands out for its combination of rich materials and inventive design. The large aluminum lampshade is mounted asymmetrically on a lacquered bracket that is carefully twisted in a beautiful balancing act, resting on an elegant marble base.
The Model 537 lamp comes in 3 variants; with lacquered or brass bracket, black or white lampshade as well as black or white marble.
Gino Sarfatti was an outstanding Italian lighting designer considered one of the most important pioneers of modern design in this field. In 1939 he founded the Arteluce brand, which introduced a modern design to Italian lighting design. The engineer by education, designed over 600 lamp models, combining technological precision with an elegant, timeless form. He experimented with new materials, such as aluminum or plexiglass, creating projects ahead of their times. His most famous work is the ceiling lamp 2097 - an icon of modern design. Sarfatti's works are in the collections of museums around the world.
