Table Lamp Model 566 Black Astep

Designed in 1956 Model 566 embodies the reduction process of Gino Sarfatti, which results in a balanced form of elements. The luminaire is stable with a clear forward movement, illuminating the contrasting corps pipe in which the characteristic Cornalux bulb is located. The lamp body is cleverly supported by a simple, rubber ring that provides an ideal friction for infinite adjustment.

Gino Sarfatti

Gino Sarfatti was an outstanding Italian lighting designer considered one of the most important pioneers of modern design in this field. In 1939 he founded the Arteluce brand, which introduced a modern design to Italian lighting design. The engineer by education, designed over 600 lamp models, combining technological precision with an elegant, timeless form. He experimented with new materials, such as aluminum or plexiglass, creating projects ahead of their times. His most famous work is the ceiling lamp 2097 - an icon of modern design. Sarfatti's works are in the collections of museums around the world.
