He was born in 1963 in Thurso, Scotland, and currently lives and works in Paris. He specializes in designing consumer electronics, lighting and IT products. He collaborated with brands like Lacia, Artemide, Vitra and Lexon. His works are characterized by minimalism, elegance and technological precision. He gained international recognition for hard disk, lamps and computer equipment designs. Awarded many times, incl. Red Dot Design Award and If Product Design Award. His projects are in permanent collections, including Center Pompidou in Paris. Poul Ton perceives design as an art of everyday life, which should be useful and timeless.
