Hanging Lamp 1972 90 Cm Gubi

The 1972 hanging lamp has a conical Bamboo lampson, made by craft masters. Bamboo strips are manually sewn into a pleated mat and manually attached to the wire frame, between which there is a linen spacer. The light gently cows through the bamboo strips, creating a cozy atmosphere. The characteristic brass elements perfectly complement the warm shade of wood and light. Under the light bulb there is a textile diffuser modulating light, and below it a decorative brass detail giving the lamp a character and subtly affecting the game of the light it generated.

Paavo Tynell

Paavo Tynell was a Finnish designer known as "a man who brought light to Finland." He graduated from the Art Craft School in Helsinki and co -founded Taito Oy, where he designed elegant brass and glass lamps. A characteristic feature of his work were perforations, lightness and subtle decorations. He collaborated with architects, including Alvar Aalto, creating lighting for public and private interiors. His best -known projects are models 9602, 9205 and 9209, today produced by Gubi. Tynella's design combined functionality with a poetic form, and its lamps are still considered to be the symbols of Scandinavian modernism and are valued by collectors around the world.
