The Turbo hanging lamp was designed in 1965 and was first put into production in 1967, achieving great success on the market. Simple in form, yet complex in structure, the setting combines a sense of lightness and strength into a beautiful sculptural whole. The inspiration for this modern lamp was the lightness of Japanese rice paper. The external curvature of the lamp is created by twelve spiral lamellas, which create a flower-like ball covering the light source.

The Turbo Gubi hanging lamp is available in 2 sizes; 36 cm and 62 cm as well as 2 colors of the lampshade; matte white and alabaster white.
Louis Weisdorf is a Danish designer and architect known for his innovative lamps from the 1960s and 1970s. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and his career included graphic, industrial and interior design. He collaborated with Tivoli Gardens and designers such as Verner PanTon and Poul Henningsen. His most famous designs are the Konkylie, Facet, Turbo and Multi-Lite lamps. His works, produced by Lyfa, have become icons of Danish design. Currently, Weisdorf lamps are offered by the Gubi brand. The designer remains one of the most respected creators in the history of Danish design.
