Turbo hanging lamp was designed in 1965. However, it was first introduced into production in 1967. Simple in a form at the same time folded in the structure, it combines a sense of lightness and strength into a beautiful sculptural whole. The inspiration for this modern lamp was the lightness of Japanese rice paper. The outer curvature of the lamp is formed by twelve spiral lamellas, which form a flower -like ball covering the light source.

Louis Weisdorf is a Danish designer and architect known for innovative lamps from the 1960s and 70s. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and his career included graphic, industrial and interior design. He collaborated with Tivoli Gardens and designers such as Verner Pan Ton and poul Henningsen. His best-known projects are concylies, guy, turbo and multi-life lamps. Weisdorf was a pioneer in creating lamps from modular elements, which enabled various configurations and controlling the direction of light. His works produced by Lyfa have become icons of Danish design. Currently, Weisdorf lamps are in the brand's offer Gubi. The designer remains one of the most valued artists in the history of Danish design.
