Gio Ponti

Gio Ponti (1891–1979) was one of the most important Italian architects and designers of the 20th century. Versatile creator; Architect, furniture designer, ceramics, glass, stage designer, publicist and founder of the Domus magazine (1928). His style combined classical elegance with modern functionality. He designed for brands such as Richard Ginori, Fontana Arte (of which he was a co -founder), Cassina or Molteni & C. His iconic works include Pirelli skyscraper in Milan and a bilia lamp. He made a huge contribution to the development of Italian design, promoting the ideas of "Italian style" around the world. He left a rich creative heritage inspiring subsequent generations of designers.
