Seashell Table 250 Cm Black Ceramic Calligaris

The challenge facing the Seashell table was the use of new material in the base; cement. People often associate cement with "heavyness and reliability" both visually and physically, but we came up with it again to make it lighter and durable at the same time. We focused on an elegant shape, which refers to organic forms of nature, especially a shell with all its curves, ridges and furrows, whose structural solidity deny the incredible fragility of the material from which it is made. Thus, cement acquires a new aesthetic and functional significance.

Gino Carollo

Gino Carollo is an Italian industrial designer born in 1965 in Vicenza, who has been active in the furniture industry since 1990. In 1999 he founded his own design studio, studio 28 specializing in product design, visual identification and commercial and private interior design. The artist collaborated with reputable brands such as Bonaldo, Calligaris, Porada, Cattelan Italia and Schönbuch. His projects, such as the "Fontana" table or the "April, May, June" table, won prestigious awards including Red Dot Design Award, IF Design Award and German Design Award.
