The 1972 pendant lamp has a conical bamboo lampshade, made by master craftsmen. Bamboo slats are hand sewn into the pleated mat and hand attached to the wire frame, with a linen spacer between them. The light gently filters through the bamboo slats, creating a cozy atmosphere. The distinctive brass elements perfectly complement the warm tone of wood and light. Under the bulb there is a textile diffuser that modulates the light, and underneath it there is a decorative brass detail that gives the lamp character and subtly influences the play of the light it generates.
Paavo Tynell was a Finnish designer known as "a man who brought light to Finland." He graduated from the Art Craft School in Helsinki and co -founded Taito Oy, where he designed elegant brass and glass lamps. A characteristic feature of his work were perforations, lightness and subtle decorations. He collaborated with architects, including Alvar Aalto, creating lighting for public and private interiors. His best -known projects are models 9602, 9205 and 9209, today produced by Gubi. Tynella's design combined functionality with a poetic form, and its lamps are still considered to be the symbols of Scandinavian modernism and are valued by collectors around the world.
