Hanging Lamp 1965 Burgundy Gubi

The 1956 hanging lamp reflects the outstanding craftsmanship of the Finnish designer Paavo Tynel for lifting ordinary lighting fixtures into functional art. The lamp is available in 5 shade finishes; black, white, brass, green and burgundy.

The lamp is powered by 3 x 46W halogen, E27 (bulbs are not included in the set).

The lamp is suspended on a 380 cm long cable.

Paavo Tynell

Paavo Tynell was a Finnish designer known as "a man who brought light to Finland." He graduated from the Art Craft School in Helsinki and co -founded Taito Oy, where he designed elegant brass and glass lamps. A characteristic feature of his work were perforations, lightness and subtle decorations. He collaborated with architects, including Alvar Aalto, creating lighting for public and private interiors. His best -known projects are models 9602, 9205 and 9209, today produced by Gubi. Tynella's design combined functionality with a poetic form, and its lamps are still considered to be the symbols of Scandinavian modernism and are valued by collectors around the world.
