Rikke Hagen

Rikke Hagen is a Danish designer of glass and ceramics, a graduate of the Danish Design School. In the years 1998–2008 she ran her own glass workshop, and in 2004 she founded the Copen Hagen design studio. Her style combines functionality with aesthetics and subtle humor. She collaborated with brands such as Normann Copenhagen and Holmegaard. For Normann Copenhagen she designed, among others Cognac glasses, whiskey and liqueur, which have gained popularity thanks to the unique form emphasizing the aroma of the drink. For Holmegaard, she created collections of glasses, vases and candlesticks. Hagen projects are inspired by everyday life, and its creative process is based on direct contact with the material. He believes that good design should be both practical and visually pleasant, and details are of key importance for the reception of the product.
