The Uovo lamp has achieved great success in the field of contemporary design, thanks to its ironic Emu yet elegant Emu design. Theestablished style icon is one of the most representative designs of the Italian brand Fontana Arte. This modern table lamp is the embodiment of absolute lightness, with an elegant form made of white, satin glass that emits warm, uniform light. The base is made of white painted metal.
The lamp is available in three sizes. Black power cable, plug and switch. European two-pole plug (bulb not included).
Ben Swildens is a Dutch designer and architect, combining design, architecture and sculpture. He studied at École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where he collaborated with Max Ingrand. In 1966 he designed for Peugeot a desk and lamp, and in 1972 he created an iconic UOVO lamp for Fontanaarte. In 1985 he founded his own studio, focusing on projects integrating furniture, architecture and sculpture. His work is characterized by minimalism, precision of form and a combination of functionality with artistic expression. Swildens' designs also include monumental sculptures made of metal, wood and fiberglass, presented at international exhibitions.
