The Uchiwa Quilted armchair by HAY is a modern lounge armchair inspired by the traditional Japanese fan. It delights with its open, organic form and quilted backrest, which adds coziness and exceptional comfort. The designer structure is based on a solid base made of natural oak, varnished with water-based varnish. The front of the armchair is upholstered with Flamiber Cream fabric, and the back - with subtle, beige Canvas 244, creating a harmonious and durable duo of colors and textures. The molded foam interior provides ergonomic support, perfect for modern interiors - both private and public.
The set can be matched with a matching footstool from the same collection. Uchiwa Quilted is a designer armchair with soul - stylish, functional and environmentally friendly (FSC™ certified).
Doshi Levien is a recognized design studio from London, founded in 2000 by the Nipa of Doshi and Jonathan Levien. Their works combine expressive aesthetics inspired by India culture with European craft precision. The Nipa, from India, brings a sense of color and narrative to the projects, and Jonathan - technical sophistication and experience in carpentry. They jointly create objects that combine craftsmanship, technology and applied art. The studio cooperated with such brands as HAY, Moroso, Kvadrat, B&B Italia, Cappellini or Swarovski. Their most recognizable projects are the quil sofa Ton, chair uchiwa or collections of textiles and lamps. The works of Doshi Levien are in the MOMA and Cooper Hewitt collections, and the duo has won numerous international awards.
