Pyramid Table 02 HAY is a timeless table with a distinctive, minimalist character inspired by the design of the 50s. Designed by Wim Rietveld, it impresses with the combination of a solid countertop from a solid, smoky oak (21 mm) with a light, and at the same time extremely stable structure of steel, bent metal. Thanks to larger dimensions (3000 × 85 cm), this model is ideal as a dining table for the whole family, a spacious team work table or an element of equipment for a modern office. Its elegant form and perfect finish are perfectly fit into the aesthetics of Scandinavian, loft and modernist interiors.
Wim Rietveld was a Dutch industrial designer, known for its functional and economical designs of furniture and utility items. The son of the famous Gerrita Rietveld, also a designer, developed his own style, combining modern Pode Jest with practicality. He collaborated, among others with Gispen and Ahrend, creating light, modular metal and plywood furniture, ideal for offices and public spaces. His works were characterized by simplicity, ergonomics and the use of modern production technologies. Rietveld was also a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Hague, where he propagated the ideas of rational design. To this day, he is considered one of the pioneers of Dutch post -war design.
