Poul Kjaerholm

poul Kjærholm was a Danish furniture designer, known for its minimalist style and exceptional craftsmanship. Unlike many of his contemporaries, instead of wood, he often chose steel by combining it with natural materials such as leather, rattan or marble. His designs combined craft precision with elegance of form and functionality. Iconic models such as the PK22 armchair or the PK80 chair have gained the status of the 20th century design classics. Kjærholm believed that steel could be as precious as wood - subtle and strong. He collaborated with the company Fritz Hansen and furniture producer Ejvind Koldem Christensen. His works are in the collections of prestigious museums, including Moma in New York.
