Andrea Branzi

Andrea Branzi was an Italian architect, designer and theoretician considered one of the key figures of the Italian design of the 20th century. He graduated from architecture in Florence in 1966, after which he co-founded the group Archizoom Associati, known from the utopian project "No-Stop City". In the 70s he collaborated with the experimental Studio Alchimia, and in the 1980s with the Memphis movement. In 1983, Domus Academy co -founded in Milan. His works, such as the "Animali Domestici" series, combined natural materials with industrial design, questioning the boundaries between art and utility. Branzi was a two -time laureate of the Compasso d’Oro award and a lecturer at the Milan University of Technology. His works are in the MOMA, Center Pompidou and V&A collections. He died in Milan in 2023, leaving behind the heritage combining theory, practice and humanistic Pode Jest for design.
