Marco Zanuso

Marco Zanuso was one of the most important Italian designers and architects of the 20th century, a pioneer of industrial design and modernism. He studied architecture at the Milan University of Technology, and from the 1940s actively participated in shaping the new Pode to design everyday objects. He collaborated with brands such as Arflex, Brionvega, Kartell and Olivetti. Zanuso became famous for innovative Pode to materials and technology, an example of which is the Lady armchair (1951) - the first piece of furniture made of polyurethane foam and rubber. In a duet with Richard Sapper he created iconic electronic products, such as Radio TS502 for Brionveg. His designs were distinguished by elegance, ergonomics and innovative solutions. Zanuso was also a professor and a theoretician of design, who had a huge impact on the development of modern design.
