The Daystak chair, designed by Robin Day with stackability in mind, is an example of combining functionality and the beauty of simple forms. Despite the visual simplicity and minimalist shape, the complex mid-century style structure conceals well-thought-out precision of workmanship. They are perfect as comfortable, space-saving dining chairs, or as additional chairs that you can use when a larger number of guests visit.
Robin Day was one of the most important British furniture designers of the 20th century. He became famous for the creation of functional, modern forms of democratic character, available to a wide audience. Working with Hille, he created iconic projects, including Hillestak chair and furniture for the Royal Festival Hall in London. In 2024, Danish Mark & Tradition restored to the production of selected Daya projects, creating Days and RFH collections, showing the timelessness of his design. Daya aesthetics combined innovative technologies, such as bent plywood, with a simple, logical construction. His works remain icons of modernism, and thanks to cooperation with & tradition they go to the new generation of users.
