Mario Trimarchi

Mario Trimarchchi is an Italian designer, architect and design theoretician, known for poetic Pode to form and functions. He studied architecture in Palermo and then collaborated with Ettore Sottsass. In 1999 he founded his own Fragile studio, in which he creates balancing projects between art and utility. His works for the brand Alessi, like the kettle of Ossidian or Misa La Stanza dello Scirocco, combine emotionality, geometry and experiment with material. Trimarchi treats design as a tool for telling stories and evoking emotions, often derived from daily observations and architecture. In 2016, he received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award. His work is a dialogue between intuition and technique - sensual, reflective and full of meanings.
