Hannakaisa Pekkala

Hannakais Pekkala is a Finnish designer belonging to the new generation of artists who combines art with usable design. A graduate of the Institute of Design & Fine Arts in Lahti, in her work explores the relationship between art and product design, creating works of a strong visual expression. Its projects, such as a minimalist Circle hanging lamp for the brand Northern, are characterized by simplicity of form and functionality, while reflecting contrasts between the harsh landscape of northern Finland and the municipal lifestyle. Pekkala is also a co -founder and creative director of UU Market - a collective and sales platform promoting contemporary Finnish designers. UU Market was created from the need to support independent creators in the field of sales, marketing and presentation of their work.
