Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and furniture craft, in Between is the result of a solid support in traditional woodworking techniques and its care for the smallest details. The adventure with this unique series of furniture began with one chair, which later resulted in a series of furniture covering both tables and chairs.
The legs and armrest are made of solid wood, and the seat and side panels are embossed from veneer.

Sami Kallio is a Finnish-Swedish designer and craftsman, whose work combines Scandinavian minimalism with deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. He was born in Helsinki, but grew up in Gothenburg, where he also runs his studio. Kallio specializes in furniture design, especially chairs, using classic carpentry techniques, such as wood turning or hot forming. His work is characterized by the purity of the form, functionality and precise performance. It is known, among others from the "In Between" collection for & tradition, which combines modernity with the Nordic heritage. He also designed for Marek Hans K, Northern or nikari. Kallio believes that a good design should be available, durable and honest with materials.
