Candlestick Pz02 Alessi

23 cm long aluminum candlestick kept in a simple, minimalist style. Unlike most other candlesticks made of aluminum, the PZ02 candlestick was not created as a result of casting, but a rotation of the aluminum block on cutting machines. Thanks to this activity, as well as the slightly raw texture of the raw material, the candlestick looks very original.

Peter Zumthor

Peter Zumthor is a Swiss architect known for minimalist, sensual projects that focus on material, light and emotional reception of space. The son of a carpenter, began his career as a journeyman, and then studied design in Basel and at the Pratt Institute in New York. In 1979 he founded his own studio in Haldenstein, where he works with a small team. His most famous projects include: Therme Vals (1996), Kunsthaus Bregenz (1997), Columbus Museum in Cologne (2007) and the chapel of brother Klaus in Germany (2007). His designs are characterized by simplicity, attention to details and a deep understanding of the context of the place. In 2009 he received the Pritzker Award, and in 2013 the Royal Riba Medal.
