Alejandro Ruiz

Alejandro Ruiz was an Argentine industrial designer, known for his minimalist and emotional Pode ście to form. He graduated from industrial design at Universidad Nacional de la Plata, and then continued his education at Domus Academy in Milan. He collaborated with such studies as Alchimia and Gregotti Associati, and in 1989 he founded his own studio in Milan. His most recognizable design is the Parmesan cheese "Parmenide" for Alessi, which combines functionality with the sculptural form and has been included in the MOMA collection. Ruiz also designed for companies such as Electrolux, Venini or Riva 1920, creating everyday objects with high aesthetics and thoughtful ergonomics. As a lecturer at Istituto European di Design and Domus Academy, he inspired subsequent generations of designers. His work remains an example of harmony between art and utility.
