The Bonbori collection designed by the world-famous Japanese designer Fumie Shibata is available in both indoor and outdoor versions. This modern lamp was inspired by the traditional paper lamps that decorate the paths to shrines and caves during the annual rice harvest festivals in Japan. The delicate light of the Bonbori lamp pays homage to the traditional Japanese lantern.
The presented lamp uses a base made of powder-coated steel. The lampshade is made of hand-blown smoked glass and the internal diffuser with laser-cut holes is made of stainless steel.
Fuma Shibata is an outstanding Japanese designer of industrial design known for its minimalist, elegant style and attention to detail. She graduated from Musashino Art University, and in 1994 she founded her own studio Design Studio S. Her work includes a wide range from medical equipment through consumer electronics to interior design and lifestyle accessories. Shibata projects show harmony of form and functions as well as deep respect for the user. The artist is known, among others from projects for brands such as Muji, Omron or Toshiba. Awarded many times, incl. The Good Design Award and Red regarding Fuma Shibata combines modern aesthetics with Japanese tradition, creating subtle objects, but at the same time expressive and perfectly fitting into a modern lifestyle.
