Shigeaki Asahara

Shigeaki Asahara is a Japanese designer who began his career in the 1980s combining Japanese aesthetics with European modernism. After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, he moved to Belgium, where he gained international recognition. His style is characterized by a harmonious combination of organic and geometric forms and the use of natural, balanced materials. He collaborated with many reputable companies in furniture, lighting and household appliances sectors. His projects were presented at numerous exhibitions around the world and have won many prestigious awards. Asahara is also involved in design education, lecturing at reputable universities in Japan and Belgium.
