Sakura Adachi

Sakura Adachi is a Japanese designer born in 1977 in Aichi prefecture. She graduated from industrial design and crafts at the Musashino University of Arts, specializing in woodworking. Then she won a master's degree in industrial design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. Since 2004, she has lived and works in Milan, where in 2008 she founded her own design studio. Her projects combine conceptual Pode with craft performance, creating functional and aesthetic items of everyday use. She collaborated with reputable brands such as Alessi, Campeggi, Fermob, Riva 1920 and Taschen. Her works have won numerous awards, including Red Dot Design Award for Eclipse bowls. Adachi was also a lecturer at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and on ISIA in Pordenone. Her projects were presented at international exhibitions, such as Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and Maison & Objet in Paris.
