Christian Dell was a German designer and silver -free, known mainly for innovative lamps in the style of Bauhaus. He was born in 1893, studied at the school of artistic crafts in Weimar, and then studied jewelry. In the years 1922–1925 he managed the metal studio at the famous Bauhaus school in Weimar. After closing it, he designed lighting, including for the brand Fritz Hansen, Gebr or Kaiser & Co. The most famous work of Dell is the Kaiser Idell lamp, which to this day is considered the icon of the design of the 20th century - elegant, functional, with a characteristic spherical joint. His style combined craft precision and modern form. After World War II, he returned to gold. Dell died in 1974. His works remain a classic of design and are still produced, valued for the timeless nature and quality of workmanship.
