Equatore is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classic lamp with a glass shade. While a traditional lamp of this type uses a lampshade to place a light source inside it, in the Equatore lampthe lampshade is paradoxically empty, and the light is generated by two luminous disks placed inside the central metal strip visible on the lampshade. The light produced by the LEDs is distributed over the surface of the disks. The lower disk directs the light flux down and the upper one illuminates the glass lampshade, providing soft, diffused light.

BURATTI ARTETETTI is a reputable Italian Studio Architek Ton ore and design, founded by the brothers Gabriele (born in 1962) and Oscar (born in 1967) Burratti, graduates of the Milan University of Technology. Their works were won by numerous international awards, including Wallpaper Design Award and Design+Plus Award.
