Greta Grossman

Greta Magnusson Grossman was a Swedish furniture designer and architect, considered one of the pioneers of modernism in Los Angeles. In 1940 she moved to the USA, where she became a key figure in California modernism. Her projects combined European influence with the American lifestyle, which attracted the attention of Hollywood stars. Her most famous works include the Grasshopper lamp (1947) and Cobra (1950). She also designed innovative furniture and buildings, including modern houses in Los Angeles. Her works were characterized by a simple form, slender lines and functionality. Magnusson-Grossman is considered a design icon, whose work enjoy great recognition to this day.
