The veneered version of the Beetle chair takes an organic, nature-inspired form. The result translates the characteristic curves of this iconic model into a molded wooden shell, giving the chair a new material aesthetic without compromising comfort.
The chair seat is upholstered with high-quality chenille fabric from the Dedar series (Belsuede Special FR). The back of the seat is veneered with American walnut, the legs are metal with an antique brass finish.
GamFratesi is a duo of designers: Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio was established in 2006 in Copenhagen and quickly gained international recognition for its creative combination of Scandinavian minimalism with the Italian sense of detail and craftsmanship. Their designs combine traditional forms with a modern interpretation of materials and functions. GamFratesi cooperates with many prestigious brands, including: Gubi or Louis Poulsen. Their most recognizable designs include the Beetle collection, the Bat armchair and the Yuh lamp.
