Bar Stool Ml 42 Light Oak With A Silver Footrest By Lassen

In 1942 Mogens Lassen designed the ML42 stool as an element for a furniture exhibition at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. He drew inspiration from stools used in the past by shoemakers. The ML42 stool is still produced in Denmark with an emphasis on quality and Scandinavian craftsmanship.

Mogens Lassen

Mogens Lassen was a Danish architect and designer, considered a pioneer of functionalism and modernism in Denmark. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he worked at the Tyge Hvassa office, and in the years 1927–1928 he stayed in Paris, where he encountered the work of Le Corbusier, which influenced his Pode to architecture. He mainly designed residential buildings, including villas and apartment buildings, as well as interiors of shops and public facilities. His furniture, such as Kubus candlestick or folding Egyptian table, combine the simplicity of form with precision and have become icons of Danish design. In 1971 he received the medal of C.F. Hansen for an outstanding contribution to architecture. Today, his projects are valued for timeless aesthetics and functionality.
