The S 35 L armchair, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1929, is an icon of Bauhaus design that still impresses today with its lightness, flexibility and comfort. Its innovative design of bent chrome-plated steel creates one smooth line covering both the seat, backrest and armrests, which gives it unique aesthetics and functionality.
Thanks to the double cantilever effect, the seat and armrests bend independently of each other, which provides incomparable seating comfort. The elastic movement of the seat and backrest frame extending towards the rear is balanced by flexible armrests, which makes the chair perfectly adapt to the user's position.
Buffalo leather is a natural, high-quality material with an open, large-porous structure. It is not corrected, embossed or varnished, which allows it to maintain its authentic character and natural beauty. Thanks to tEmu, each leather has unique features, such as irregularities in color or structure, which are evidence of its natural origin and do not constitute product defects.
The leather comes exclusively from European farms and is tanned in an environmentally friendly way. During use, the leather responds to touch, developing a characteristic patina and individual appearance, which gives the furniture a unique, personal character. Solid seams ensure high durability and wear resistance, and over time, delicate folds may appear on the surface, which further emphasize the natural appearance of the leather.
For additional comfort, the matching S 35 LH footstool, designed in the same style, is also available.

Marcel Breuer was a Hungarian-American architect and designer, one of the pioneers of modernism. He studied in the famous Bauhaus in Weimar, and later he became a teacher there. He became famous for furniture from a bent steel tube in this iconic Wassily chair, which revolutionized Pode to form and material. Breuer moved the principles of functionalism from furniture to architecture, creating modern buildings with raw, be Ton of these forms like the La Tourette monastery or Whitney Museum in New York. His works were characterized by minimalism, innovation and formal courage. Breuer combined the technical possibilities of industry with the aesthetics of modern life, leaving a lasting trace both in design and in the architecture of the 20th century.
