Cristiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes are a duo of designers who combines Italian sensitivity to form with British precision and rationality. Cristiana, an architect by education, and Christopher, a product designer, began joint activity in 2006. Their studio is located in Treviso, Italy. They specialize in designing lighting, furniture and utility products, with emphasis on craft, experiment and emotionality of the form. The duo has gained recognition thanks to the collection of lamps that combine modern technology with manual performance, e.g. a series of bolle, inspired by the lightness of the soap bubble. Their designs are present in design galleries and private spaces around the world. Giopato & Coombes create a design that tells stories, celebrates light and balance between matter and space, always with a sense of aesthetics and innovation.
