The Tearoom club chair is a design designed for exclusive hotel, club or leisure environments, as well as private living spaces. The inspiration for the presented project was the Willow Chair by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, created for The Willow Tearooms in Glasgow in 1904. Like many of Mackintosh's furniture designs, the Willow chair, while undoubtedly beautiful, is more about visual effect than comfort, its unusual dimensions making it more of a sculptural installation than a utilitarian piece of furniture.
Nick Ross is a Scottish-Swedish designer living in Stockholm, known for its minimalist forms inspired by cultural history and narrative. He graduated from industrial design at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, and then obtained a master's degree in the field of interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack in Stockholm. In 2014, he founded his own design studio. His works such as the "White Lies" table or the "Last of the Free" collection explore the influence of fiction and history on the perception of objects. Ross has collaborated with reputable brands such as Audo Copenhagen and +Halle, creating projects combining crafts with modern design. His work was presented at international exhibitions, including in Milan and Berlin.
