The Sobremesa collection is part of the design collaboration between the brandHAYand artist Laila Gohar, who celebrates the joy of gathering family and friends over a good meal. Made of heat-resistant porcelain, the bowl can be used for cooking as well as a decorative serving dish.
The Sobremesa bowl is available in various sizes and designs in monocolors or with a contrasting stripe.
A few words about the designer
Laila Gohar is a conceptual artist and chef. He creates an immersive experience that blurs the line between performance and dining. Gohar was born in Egypt, where she grew up in a large family of passionate cooks and hosts. She currently lives in New York, where she works internationally and isknown for her high-quality collaborations in the fields of art, design and fashion.
Laila Gohar is an Egyptian-American artist and designer who transforms food into surprising, performance forms of art. It works from New York, creating culinary installations to order luxury brands and cultural institutions. Her projects combine traditional craft techniques with humor and surrealism. In 2022, together with her sister, she founded Gohar World - a brand of unusual table accessories, such as lace fruit covers or sculptural napkins. Gohar collaborated, among others with brands HAY, Prada and Hermès. Her work focuses on celebrating the community, emotions and sensual experience of the meal, redefining the boundaries between design, art and culinary.
