Laila Gohar

Laila Gohar is an Egyptian-American artist and designer who transforms food into surprising, performance forms of art. It works from New York, creating culinary installations to order luxury brands and cultural institutions. Her projects combine traditional craft techniques with humor and surrealism. In 2022, together with her sister, she founded Gohar World - a brand of unusual table accessories, such as lace fruit covers or sculptural napkins. Gohar collaborated, among others with brands HAY, Prada and Hermès. Her work focuses on celebrating the community, emotions and sensual experience of the meal, redefining the boundaries between design, art and culinary.
