Shorebirds byNormannCopenhagen is a series of charming, wooden figurines with a simple, minimalist expression. The collection includes 3 sizes and several color versions. project; Sigurjón Pálsson
Sigurjón Pálsson is an Icelandic designer and writer, a graduate of Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His philosophy is based on a harmonious combination of form, function and material, striving for simplicity and timelessness. The best known from the series of wooden birds Shorebirds, originally designed for a local craftsman in Húsavík, which later became a bestseller Normann Copenhagen. His other projects are Puffin, inspired by a maskon, and RAM and Walrus, reflecting the Icelandic fauna. He cooperates with EPAL, and his works are valued for minimalist aesthetics and deep root in Icelandic culture. Pálsson is also the author of detective stories for which he received the Blóðdropinn award in 2012. His credo is: "Look is always more beautiful than just look beautiful."
