Information

Product description

Sam Son is a fancy armchair supported on four poles. It is also a softly suspended seat between a giant horseshoe-shaped element serving as a backrest. The exaggerated size of the armrest and backrest provides comfort and support and creates a protective space for sitting.

Designed by Konstantin Grcic for Magis , the Sam Son armchair is made entirely of rotationally molded polyethylene. It can be used both indoors and outdoors

Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic is one of the greatest contemporary German designers, known for its innovative Pode to form and functions. He was born in 1965 in Munich, and gained education at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1991 he founded his studio KGID - Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design. It creates furniture, lighting and utility products for brands such as Flos, Magis, Vitra, Muja and Classicon. His designs, such as the Chair_ONE chair or Mayday lamp, are known for industrial aesthetics and intellectual depth. Grcic combines technological precision with raw beauty, and his works are presented in design museums around the world, including Moma and Center Pompidou.
