Poul Henningsen

poul Henningsen (1894–1967) was one of the most influential Danish designers and architects of the 20th century, known primarily for revolutionary achievements in the field of lighting. His works, a combination of functionality and aesthetics, introduced a new quality in lamp design. The most recognizable work of Henningsen is the pH 5 lamp, which has become an icon of Scandinavian design. Thanks to the innovative Emu, the headlight system that effectively distracts light, providing pleasant and even lighting, revolutionized the way of perception of lighting in residential and public spaces. Henningsen was also a supporter of design democratization, believing that beauty and functionality should be available to everyone.
