Barba Corsini

Francisco Juan Barba Corsini was a Spanish architect and designer, one of the leading representatives of functionalism in Spain. He was born in Tarragon and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Barcelona. His career was interrupted by the Spanish civil war, but after its completion he continued his education, and in 1943 he obtained a diploma. In 1966 he became a professor of design. Barba Corsini was inspired by Van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Alvar Aalto. His most important project was the modernization of the attic Casa Milà (La Pedrera) in Barcelona, ​​where he designed furniture and lighting, creating a modern La Pedrera collection. His works combined functionality with aesthetics, and projects are inspired by contemporary architects.
