The Original 1227 hanging lamp thanks to the beautiful, solid brass elements, it is a sophisticated reinterpretation of the classic Original 1227 project. This is a perfect example of British design that has survived the test of time and continues to impress with its simplicity and elegance. Project: George Carwardine
George Carwardine (1887–1947) he was a British engineer and designer, known primarily as the creator of the Anglepoise lamp - icons of modern design. Specializing in vehicle suspension systems, in 1932 he developed an innovative spring mechanism, which allowed for precise lamp setting in any position without blocking it. Initially, he produced lamps in his workshop, but due to the growing interest, in 1934 he established cooperation with Herbert Terry & Sons, which began the mass production of the model Anglepoise 1227. Thanks to its functionality and aesthetics, the lamp quickly gained popularity in both industrial and home environments, becoming a symbol of British design. To this day, Anglepoise is valued for its durability, flexibility and timeless style, being an inspiration for many designers around the world.
