Luca Nichetto

Luca Nichetto is an Italian designer born in 1976 in Venice, raised on the island of Murano, famous for its glass tradition. He studied industrial design at the University of IUAV in Venice. He began his career by designing glass for Salviati and lighting for Foscarini. In 2006 he founded his own studio in Venice, and in 2011 the second in Stockholm. The artist combines an Italian expressive style with Nordic minimalism, creating furniture, lighting and interior designs. He collaborated with brands such as Cassina, & Tradition, de la Espada, Fritz Hansen or Hermès. His designs are functional, but characterized by emotion and story. He often acts as an artistic director and juror in design competitions.
