From a practical point of view, the slot in the seat will work well during rain (the slots allow water to flow freely, which does not create puddles on the seat and thus does not damage the surface of the chair).

Hannes & Fritz is a duo of industrial designers, which consists of Hannes Karl and Fritz Gräber. Their cooperation is based on the pursuit of functional and honest design, which combines the simplicity of form with high quality of workmanship. Both designers gained experience in reputable design studies before they joined their forces and began to jointly implement their own concepts. Their works are characterized by a passion for natural materials, transparent structure and precision of detail.
