Herbert Krenchel is a Danish engineer and designer, known primarily from the iconic Kornit Bowl project, which became the icon of Danish modernist design of the 1950s. Combining technical knowledge with utility aesthetics, Krenchel created objects that are characterized by simplicity of form, functionality and timeless style. His bowl, made of enameled steel, distinguishes the minimalist shape and contrast between the matte outer surface and the shiny interior. To this day, this project remains a symbol of Scandinavian design, combining beauty with practicality. Krenchel believed that design should be available and useful in everyday life.
