For modern Japanese, the kimono is a symbol of mines; grace and respect for tradition. The similarities between the chair and its source of inspiration are particularly evident in the seams on the seat, which both add a graphic look and separate the armrests and cover from each other; just like a real kimono. The kimono is molded, thanks to which it will retain its characteristic, curved shape for many years of use.
a few words about upholstery fabric;
Qual fabric is woven from 100% pure wool specially developed for Bolia. The natural lanolin content in wool makes it easy to keep clean. The result is an upholstery fabric of exceptional quality, certified according to the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® standard.
Pascal Bosetti is a German designer and craftsman who founded Bosetti Design Studio in Munich in 2015. His Pode Jat to design combines emotions, functionality and rigorous form. A master of metaloplasty by profession, Bosetti graduated from design in the design in Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel in 2010. His passion for materials and their properties is manifested in projects that harmoniously combine aesthetics with utility. He collaborated with reputable brands such as Bolia, for which he created, among others The kimono bar chair inspired by the Japanese traditional outfit and the Arco furniture collection characterized by arched forms and simplicity of structure. Bosetti won numerous awards including German Design Award and Good Design Award, and his works were presented at international exhibitions. As a guest lecturer, he shares his knowledge of product design and industrial design.
