Lluís Porqueras

Lluís Porqueras is a Catalan designer and one of the most important figures in Spanish design, born in 1930. After taking architecture courses, he started working on house renovations, and in 1956 he founded Stoa - one of the first design studios in Catalonia. In **1979, together with Jaume Vaquero, he created the Vapor brand, producing simple and functional lamps created in opposition to the technological trends of the time. His Podeapproach to design is based on reducing form to its essence - "removing everything unnecessary until it remains simple and useful." He collaborated with companies such as Marset, Mobles 114, Santa & Cole and Targetti and designed iconic lighting such as Claris, Funiculí and the Finisterre city light pole.
