Patrick Jouin

Patrick Jouin is a French designer born in 1967 in Nantes, a graduate of École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (Ensci). He started his career in Philippe Starck's studio, and in 1998 he founded his own studio Patrick Jouin ID, specializing in industrial design and utility design. In 2006, together with the architect Sanjit Manek, he created the Jouin Manek studio, which implemented projects on the border of architecture and design. Jouin cooperated with reputable brands such as Cassina, Kartell, Alessi, Pedrali and Fermob. His designs, combining elegance with innovation, include furniture, lighting and equipment for public spaces, including Vélib stations and city toilets in Paris. In 2011 he received the Compasso d’Oro award for the pastapot project for Alessi. His works are in the MOMA, Center Pompidou collections and other prestigious museums. In 2020 he was awarded the Legion of Honor.
