Thomas Pedersen is a Danish designer known for creating modern furniture with a sculptural, organic form. His style combines functionality with the inspirations of nature and the tradition of Scandinavian design. The most recognizable work of Pedersen is the Stingray armchair - a characteristic collar reminiscent of a railing, which has gained international recognition for its form and comfort. Pedersen often experiments with materials, using both bent wood and modern composites. In his work, he is guided by the principle that aesthetics should go hand in hand with ergonomics. His designs are in the collections of prestigious brands and design museums. Pedersen is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture in Aarhus, where he developed his interest in form, technology and sustainable design.
