Hertel & Klarhoefer is a German duo of designers, Peter Hertel and Sebastian Klarhoefer, who met in school times and jointly studied architecture in Berlin and Venice. In 1999 they founded their design studio in Berlin. Their works are characterized by a combination of industrial logic with craftsmanship, which results in projects combining innovation with timeless aesthetics. The inspiration is derived from the city landscape of Berlin and travel, and their creative process is based on early experimentation with materials and prototypes on a 1: 1 scale.
